Learning Targets:
Students can recall the 8th Amendment and apply it to real world situations like the Death Penalty.

What we did:
1. Starter: Is the Death Penalty a violation of the 8th Amendment (cruel and unusual punishment)?

2. Debated most of the period.

3. Worked on Preamble Packet but did not correct it or turn it in.

2. Have your Preamble Packet done and ready to be corrected on Monday.

Students can summarize the Bill of Rights and their applications.

What we did:
1. Starter: What are some of the rights given to those accused of crimes?

2. Finished watched the videos on the 10 Amendments
3. Finished the notes on the Bill of Rights
4. Started the Preamble Packet.

If you were absent:
1. Do the Starter 
2. Get the notes from a classmate or from here
3. Get a tan colored Preamble Packet from the blue binder.
4. The packet is due at the end of the period Friday.  You can have until Monday if needed.

I can describe the two parts of the 2nd Amendment and defend how I feel about gun control.

What we did:
1. Starter: Do you agree or disagree with this statement: Any type of gun control is a violation of the 2nd Amendment.
2. Had a long discussion about gun rights 
3. Took notes on 2nd Amendment and some classes went on to the 3rd and 4th Amendments.

2. Ask a classmate what notes they have and get them from them.

4. Some classes watched the Quack Video on the 2nd Amendment.

5. Watched this video and started to write a Thank You letter to a founding father. We will finish them Monday.

1. I can remember what battle was the turning point and the last battle of the Revolutionary War.

2. I can define DBQ and explain why we do them.

What we did:
1. Starter
2. Took a "quiz" on the Battle of Saratoga and Yorktown
3. Filled out the "I Can" assessment paper for Pre-Revolution
4. Started the Valley Forge DBQ

If you were absent:
1. Do the Starter: What does DBQ stand for? And why do we do them?

2. Go to the Blue Binder and get the blue "Chapter Review" paper and take it like a quiz. Then correct it and add the correct answers in a different color.

3. Find your "I Can" paper (it's a beige color) and fill it out with today's date.  You should be able to put 3's and 4's down but it's okay if  you can't.  Show it to me when  you are done.

4. Get the blue "Valley Forge: Would You Have Quit" DBQ Packet from the blue binder.  Do the first two pages.
