What we did:
1. Starter: Name the 5 parts to the 1st Amendment.
2. Corrected and scored the Letter to Congress by classmates.
3. 4th and 6th Period did page 5 of the packet, so do that yourself.
4. Watched more Quack videos.
5. Packet not due Friday.

What to do now:
1. Do the Starter
2. Have a classmate correct your letter and score it with my rubric-get that from me.
3. Do page 5 if you are in 4th or 6th period.
4. Be sure  you have most of the packet done.

1. Turned in Senator Letter 50 pts
2. Have packet ready for tomorrow and come with questions.

Wednesday, January 29th

What we did:
1. Starter: Write about your experience writing to your Letter to Congress.
2. Turned in the Letters to Congress, but did not send them.  We will be emailing them later instead.
3. Wrote on a slip of paper their opinions on the State of the Union address and turned them in for credit.
4. Had a lot of discussion about topics in the speech and other issues.
5. Watched the rest of the 1st Quack video (the 1st Amendment)

What to do now:
1. Do the Starter
2. Turn in your Letter to Congress as soon as possible.
3. On a half sheet of paper and after watching some of the President's speech, write in 3-4 sentences your opinion and use examples/details.
4. Be sure to understand all of the 5 parts of the 1st Amendment.

1. Letter to Congress 50 Points
2. State of the Union Opinion 20 points.

1. Starter: Explain and give an example of Federalism.
2. Assigned Homework
3. Corrected pages 6 and 7 of Packet
4. Watched a video about the 1st Amendment.

What to do now:
1. Do the Starter
2. Using my key, correct pages 6 and 7 with a purple pen.
3. Watch 20 minutes at least of the State of the Union Address given Tuesday night.  You can look it up online if needed.
4. Letter to Congress is due tomorrow.

1. Be sure pages 8-10 in packet are done.
2. Write your final draft of your Letter to Congress
3. Watch 20 min. of the State of the Union Address.

3. Letter to Congress is due Wed. and needs to be proofread by a parent.
4. 3rd Period did page 5
5. All periods were assigned pages 6-10.

What to do now:
1. Work on your letter to Congress and have it ready by Wed.  If you would like me to read it before hand I am willing.
2. If you are in 3rd period, do page 5 on your own.
3. Do pages 6-10, and on page 10, you can just write Fact or Opinion, you don't have to color it.

What we did:
1. Starter: Would you have signed the Constitution without a Bill of Rights?
2. Discussed rules, procedures and announced a competition with the U.S. Honors classes.  No missing assignments then we will have a "party" so DO YOUR ASSIGNMENTS!  Even if the assignment is late.
3. Turned in the Projects
4. Discussed some things for the test tomorrow.

What to do now:
1. Get a new pink Starter Packet from the binder and do the Starter
2. I hope you studied and are ready to take the test Friday!
3. Turn in your project with an Absent Slip or a Late Pass.

What we did:
1. No Starter, we were in the computer lab
2. Played U.S. Geography games at sheppardsoftware.com and I offer extra credit for getting 90% or higher on any game.  Just print it off and put it in the Late or Absent basket.
3. Began the assignment to write a letter to a Congressman of Utah.  The worksheet is in the binder.

What to do now:
1. Get the white "Study Guide" packet from the binder
2. Get the white "Letter to a Representative" paper out of the binder.  Let me know if you need help.
