2. Finished the Battle of Antietam video and finished notes.
3. Started doing Section 3 Packet.

I will explain why the casualties were so high during the Civil War. 

What we did:
1. Starter: Why were there so many casualties in this war?
2. Were assigned the Civil War Person Report and signed up for a person to research.
3. Finished watching the Battle of Bull Run.
4. Started watching Battle of Antietam
5. Started the notes "Why were there so many casualties?"

If you were absent:
1. Do the Starter
2. Come to me to sign up for a person to do your report on.
3. Get a Pink Civil War Person Report paper.
4. Get notes from a classmate on Antietam.

I can name the first major battles of the Civil War.

What we did:
1. Starter: Copy this table and fill in the blanks.

2. Received Civil War "I Can's"
3. Assembled the Civil War Packet (see below)
4. Corrected Section 2 "Packet"
5. Watched the Battle of Bull Run
6. Started the video on the Battle of Antietam

If you were absent:
1. Do the Starter
2. Get the purple "I Can's" from the blue binder.
3. Get a white Civil War Packet from the binder and put your packet together like this:

First: Flag
Second: Map from last packet 
Third: South Carolina Secession Debate paper
Fourth: rest of the packet.

4. Correct your Section 2 assignment with my key.

Tuesday, May 5th

Learning Target:
I can summarize where the Civil War began, and the first major battles and plans.

What we did:
1. Starter: How did the Civil War begin and where?
2. Corrected Section 1 "Packet"
3. Did Section 2 Packet.

If you were absent:
1. Do the Starter
2. Use my Answer Key and correct Section 1. KEEP YOUR ASSIGNMENT.
3. Get a pink Section 2 Packet from me or my table in front and use the back of your Section 1 assignment and do Section 2.  Do all of it except the last question.

Monday, May 4th

Learning Targets:
I can describe the first battles of the Civil War and the plans each side had to win.

What we did:
1. Starter: Name a character from Star Wars
2. Finished watching "American Ride" 
3. Received a Permission Form to be signed by parents to watch Glory, Gettysburg, and Gods and Generals.
4. Did Ch. 16 Section 1 Packet on own sheet of paper and most finished in class.

If you were absent:
1. Do the Starter
2. Get a white Permission Form from the binder.
3. Get a blue Ch. 16 Section 1 Packet from me and begin to work on it. We will correct it right after the Starter Tuesday. You can have an extra day.
